Peter shares a room with his three sisters — Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail — and he cannot sleep. It's too crowded, too noisy, and he is quite certain he is old enough for a room of his own.
The argument is familiar to any household with more than one small child. Peter makes his case. His sisters are unmoved. Mrs. Rabbit is trying to get everyone settled.
Eleanor Taylor's illustrations give the bedroom a cosy, lamplight warmth — the kind that makes children want to linger on each page. A good book for the end of the day, especially when bedtime is being negotiated.
