A sunny afternoon by the pond, and Peter has decided to build a raft. By himself. He is fairly certain he can manage it alone.
The raft turns out to be more complicated than it looked. Logs are heavier than expected. Getting them to stay together requires more hands than Peter has. His sisters watch for a while, then quietly step in.
There is no lecture about asking for help. The story simply shows what happens when you do: the raft gets built, and the afternoon turns out better than it would have been. Light and warm, with Taylor's watercolours catching the summer light on the water.
